Political science is a social science concerned with the theory and practice of politics, description and analysis of political systems and political behavior. It is often known as the study of politics. Another popular description of Political Science is - who gets what, when and how. Broadly speaking politics is the study of government of states and other political units.
A person specializing in this field of study is known as Political Scientist. Political scientists usually influence the world in an indirect manner - by educating citizens and political leaders, by contributing to debates on political issues, and by encouraging different ways of looking at the world. The study of political science in depth is based on understanding the negative and positive aspect of Politics - political stability and revolution, repression and liberty, equality and inequality, war and peace and democracy and dictatorship. These aspects are further utilised in effective and efficient administration, which has been filtered of mistakes and blunders of the past.
B.A. Political Science or Bachelor of Arts in Political Science is an undergraduate Political Science course. Political Science is the study of theory and practice of politics and description and analysis of political system and political behaviour. The B.A. (Political Science) degree course involves study of both national and international political systems. It covers a very broad field which incorporates the study of historical and modern political systems, public administration, governmental policies and procedures, international relations and public affairs.
